Hands-on Training by AT KidSystems Expedites Georgia Implementation
SILVER SPRING, MARYLAND (December 3, 2007) – AT KidSystems(TM), the manufacturer and distributor of children-related products, today announced that more than 200 students in a Georgia school district started the school year with Cosmo’s Learning Systems. The Henry County School District purchased 21 Cosmo’s Learning Systems to support the educational goals of its Pre-K and special education students.
“I am always looking for innovative products that teachers can easily use. Cosmo’s Learning Systems met my three criteria of being easy to use, aligning with students’ individual education program goals and having the capability of collecting data,” explained Mrs. Randy Martins, Assistive Technology Intervention Teacher for Henry County School District. “What really won us over was that AT KidSystems provided on-site, hands-on training to the teaching staff. It was a real proactive, positive way to encourage the teachers to start using the product.”
“The teachers and administrative staff at Henry County Schools have been very enthusiastic about the immense capabilities of Cosmo’s Learning Systems,” said Dr. Corinna E. Lathan, Chief Executive Officer of AT KidSystems. “During the training sessions, the teachers were very excited about how they were going to incorporate Cosmo’s Learning Systems as part of their classroom instruction. Their experiences and creative energy will be an asset when we add new features and software programs to the product line in the months ahead.”
“The response from teachers has been very good,” said Mrs. Randy Martins. “Students are very engaged when they are using Cosmo’s Learning Systems. They are staying focused which is a challenge for many of our students. The children really like Cosmo and are doing well using it. I think that has a lot to do with the teachers having an opportunity to learn how to use the product before school began. They have been more enthusiastic about introducing Cosmo’s Learning Systems in their classrooms.”
Cosmo’s Learning Systems motivates children with developmental age of 2-to-8 years. Children with and without disabilities use Mission Control in place of a mouse or keyboard to engage Cosmo in exploring numerous activities offered in Cosmo’s Play and Learn(TM) software. Mission Control features four (4) aFFx(TM) activators and a built-in microphone. Cosmo’s Play and Learn software provides entertaining content while supporting individual educational and rehabilitation goals with customization and data tracking. Cosmo’s Learning Systems also offers a magnetic board and magnets in the shapes of characters from the Cosmo’s Play and Learn software program, Playground Discovery.
